In 1946 he opened his own boutique there and became a leading design sensation. In 1947 his line debuted and was launched at The New Look magazine by an American journalist. The New Look featured narrow shoulders and calf-length, full skirts and replace the broad shouldered, slim long line skirt silhouette of the war years.
